Villa Marilena is a bright and welcoming holiday home in the heart of Protaras, just 600 metres from the nearest beach—an easy stroll for families looking to spend the day by the sea. With sunlight filling the house throughout the day and plenty of outdoor space, it's a great setting for a relaxed family break.

Outside, the villa features a private garden, a decked swimming pool area, comfortable outdoor seating, a shaded dining space, and a barbecue—perfect for al fresco family meals. There’s also gated off-road parking for extra convenience and peace of mind.

Set over two floors, the villa offers an open-plan layout with air conditioning in all bedrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with a full range of appliances, wooden worktops, and plenty of storage, making it easy to prepare meals at home. The dining area has a table and six chairs, while the living room offers two comfy sofas, a large flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and direct access to the pool area through sliding doors.

The ground floor has one double bedroom with access to a shared shower room and WC. Upstairs, the master bedroom includes another double bed, while a third bedroom is set up with two single beds—ideal for children. Both upstairs rooms share a family shower room and enjoy access to a sunny terrace.

Improvements: Change the cleaning team, they seem to make things worse and secure the decking it was loose in quite a few places and some screws were protruding above the decking

Liked: The company was so helpful we had a delay and some lights out at the property and they sorted the work out within 24hrs as promised, every time I emailed them they got straight back to me. They could not be more accommodating 5 star.

Improvements: The only thing they could improve on is the property is looking a little tiered,needs freshening up.

Enjoyable stay

Liked: Lovely big villa with a beautiful pool & ample outside area. The villa is at the end of a small cull de sac & is not overlooked at all. Generally the villa was comfortable & ample big enough for 6 adults. Both showers were good & were large enough for well developed adults. The Managing Agents were also very helpful (La Mer Homes) as upon contact on our first day, arranged for the immediate replacement of some light bulbs that had blown & also the delivery of 2 further new sunbeds as only 4 were in situate when we arrived & 6 were required. Very good helpful service.

We wanted a villa with pool in a quiet location, with private outdoor space being our main priority. Villa Marilena could not have been more perfect for us, we loved it! The villa is well equipped and simply furnished in a rustic style. There is a covered terrace with a very comfortable seating area for shade. The pool is a decent size with steps into the water and a lovely infinity feature when the filter comes on and you get the relaxing waterfall sound. The pool was maintained twice during our week by Andreas who was lovely. The garden is beautiful, completely private and not overlooked by anything. The balcony connecting the 2 upstairs bedrooms has a sea view and if you get up early you can catch the sunrise. There are 2 well stocked supermarkets and a lovely, traditional restaurant (To Elinadiko) just a short walk (no more than 5mins) from the villa. The coastal path leading into Protaras is also within easy reach. You can walk into the centre of Protaras in about 40mins, and the walk is beautiful with plenty of restaurants, bars & cafes along the way. The beaches are beautiful, the nearer you get into town, the bigger & busier they are, but we liked the little quieter coves at our end of town. This was our first visit to Cyprus, Protaras is beautiful. There are loads of cats which we loved, they are so friendly but only if you encourage them, otherwise they stay away and don't bother you. We would love to return someday and I would happily choose Villa Marilena again! Thoroughly recommend!

Improvements: I have absolutely no complaints, just a couple of tips if you are thinking of staying here. The villa is situated just a short walk up a gentle hill from the main road. If you are out for dinner be aware that when it's dark this short walk is pitch black so make sure you have company and a phone with a torch. Sadly the bean bags are not there anymore, and when you want to connect to WiFi the network might not show up on your phone exactly as it is shown on the instructions, but your phone will find the right network and the password will connect you. There is a contact number for La Mer Homes if you need them and they are quick to respond, very helpful & friendly.

Lovely stay

The villa for us was the perfect size for six of us. The pool was also a good size as was the outdoor area. The location was perfect, as we had a car. Supermarket just down the road and beach all in walking distance. The communication with la mer homes was excellent. I had to ask to stay later as our flight was late and this was not a problem, with a small fee. All in all we had a lovely stay.

Improvements: The outdoor sofas were unfortunately filthy, we were not provided with any cleaning products, toilet roll or any basic kitchen condiments, salt pepper, kitchen foil ect, of which I bought. We couldn’t leave kitchen window or patio doors open as the cats came into villa. Next door feed and house them so there is around 20 cats that sleep around the villa and on the outdoor furniture at night, and it’s covered in cat hair. Also decking around pool is loose which is dangerous and needs some general maintenance. Microwave is rusty inside. All these are things that could be sorted easily and would make this a five star villa. Please get these sorted to make customers want to return as it’s a lovely home.

Improvements: The Villa and surrounding areas where nice and quiet. There is a local taverna with good food, Protaras strip is a bit of a walk but use of a car is beneficial. Like pretty much everywhere in Cyprus, there are quite a few cats around.

Improvements: 1. uncomfortable bed mattresses and pillows 2. weak outdoor chairs, we were afraid to sit on them 3. dirty outdoor and living room fabric sofas 4. weak internet on the second floor 5. from the photos it seems that you can see the sea, but the view is only of the bushes (you can only see it from the corner of the balcony on the second floor)
